EU VAT checker

We are using the one-page checkout module you developed in our
Virtuemart store. There is an issue where the EU VAT number validator
does not work when enabled, and it displays the following error:
“The EU validation service is currently not available in your country.
Please try again later. INVALID_REQUESTER_INFO.”

Another problem is that in certain cases the field label does not
disappear (e.g., VAT Number), only the input field itself.

Hello, are you sure you are on VM1 ? we did lot's of works in VAT validator in latest version of OPC, so it can handle more cases when VAT validation is not available.

On the other hand we still suggest to use "manual" vat validation since it is your responsiblity to proof that a person is really subject to a non-VAT purchase (against your domestic tax office) and using automatic VAT free purchases might not be ideal for many cases (it is OK for services but i generally would not suggest it for products without knowing the destination recipients ). In EU VAT system you normally need 3 proofs for non-VAT delivery such as "delivery address + company status + other like IP address or payment method that is country aware"
