Hello, it would be very complex to add acymailing rendering to OPC themes, so for this purpose there is "acymailing checkbox" within OPC backend. We haven't yet analyzed changes of Acy 6 vs Acy 7 as opc is using multiple modes to send the datas to acymailing:
- aproach to use their plugins (i.e. sending datas to their triggerers) -> after 10 years this is very unreliable due to changes in their plugins and their plugins got a free vs pro versions which might behave differently
- direct database inserts into acy tables -> this seems like a better solution since we do not need to craft data into their ever changing plugins , but the problem here is that Acy Pro and Acy Free might have different table schemas
- opc uses standard joomla registration triggers, so if if acy supports mailing list with automatic subscription (without a check of a checkbox) then this should work for you
we can analyze Acymailing and adjust OPC code in this matter if needed on your site. We can provide up to 2H of such works under standard OPC subscription. If the works would require 4 to 10h we'd have to agree on a budget and time.
More information:
- in Acy 6 last year we had discovered SQL injection issue (this should had been fixed already, but security audit is recommended for any Acymailing installation)
- we got mailchimp plugin which communicates directly with mailchimp API and their databases (it is not using local database, it purely uses remote database) - it supports subscription to mailchimp depending on cart's content (product's category)
- generally you should never use your web server's SMTP (or your main SMTP) to send our advertisement - there are dedicated companies for this purpose that specialize on making sure their IPs are always whitelisted to be able to send commercial emails (sending out 100 000 emails without first registering the IP among antispam companies will most probably cause immidiate IP ban)
Best regards, stan
