How to add an extra field?

How do I add an extra field on the registration page?

I would like to have a field like "How did you hear about us" which cannot be edited by the user again after filling out.

hello, to make it ready only or hidden after the first usage, i'd have to create a small customization.

genarally you can add such field using virtuemart shopper field managment using single select, or textfield.

see virtuemart -> configuration -> shopper fields -> add new -> (create your field, we suggest to make it available as a cart field only OR account field only)

hello, what type did you assing it? did you make it "published", did you mark it anyhow in opc (business field only or custom rendered, etc... ) ?

Type is Text field and it is published. I did not mark it to anything, because I do not know what to mark.

hello, please mark it as "cart" field within the VM's shopper fields. for now it will show up everytime when the user does an order, but it won't be shown at the registration page.
