How to upgrade to Virtuemart 3.0.6 (from previous 3.x)

Hello, today we had discovered a serious issue which is related to long filenames being used by some installer packages, especially VM3.0.6 AIO package that is part of the latest released 3.0.6 (unzip) archilve.

OUR RECOMMENDATION IS THAT UNTIL VIRTUEMART CHANGES IT'S FILEFORMAT FROM TAR.GZ TO .ZIP, YOU SHOULD UNGZIP/UNTAR VIRTUEMART INSTALL PACKAGES, AND ZIP THEM INTO A STANDARD ZIP PACKAGE - and then they are ready to be installed on your Joomla site.

The problem is caused by a buggy Joomla "untar" function which is just not capable of handling long filenames.
