Username exists but order is placed

One of my customers pointed me on this bug:

When registering at checkout there is no check if the username already exists.
When I choose to register myself and the username already exists I still can place the order.
On the "thank you page" there is a notice "Username already exists", but the order is processed.

I think it should be as follow:
- When registering at checkout AND a username OR an e-mail address already exists the order is NOT processed
- the customer gets a notice so he can choose another username / email address OR login if he remembers his login details.

I hope this is just a simple fix and there will be an update for your fantastic component.

Hello, what is your status at OPC backend for this feature at the registration tab:

"Enable duplicit emails in any type of registration"

This feature enables you to use the same email address more then once for unlogged users. The user will not get logged after the purchase. This also concerns the username as we recommend to use email as username.

The following is what I want:
- Customer is possible to checkout as guest
- Customer is possible to register at checkout and makes a new account. When Username OR e-mail adddress already exists the order is not processed and the customer has to choose another username or e-mail adddress.
- Customer is possible to log-in with an existing account.
