Conversion and Tracking

Postby todoelectrico.es@.....com » Tue Oct 21, 2014 4:18 pm

Hello, to account for the conversion and ecommerce tracking in analytics is necessary that you have to visit again at a later time after you have changed the status of your order or does not this need.

Another question would be if you had more information on how to rewrite the URL of the page thanks. For the menu item serves OPC and Virtuemart - Thank you page (opt) and how it works.
You have no documentation utilities works and how are you do not know how to set it right.

Thanks for everything.

hello, if the status changes to confirmed, the code is shown upon the next visit of any page on your site by the customer who's cookie is paired with the one that was associated with the order. there is also support for negative order statuses (cancelled, etc..) which trigger negative order total for the tracking feature.

i do not suggest to rewrite OPC's real landing URL as it would probably break lot's of functionalities. we found the url as it's set now to be the most stable with all sef extensions.

the URL rewrite for google analytics is done with opc code, so it can look like /thank-you page within your GA account. The reason for this rewrite is that return URL from your payment plugins is always different.

But if the client does not return the conversion or not the transaction is counted ... right? This is a problem as there are customers who do not return or return past over one month.
And thank you page would have to put / thank-you in GA accounted for the transaction?

Thanks for everything.

hello, yes, if the client does not retun in ONE MONTH FROM THE PURCHASE his conversion will not get counted. For this reason we are going to add a special server-server conversion tracking that would not be triggered from customer context.

regardless of the URL to which he returns, opc set it as configured at it's GA tracking (/thank-you)

OPC within the very latest versions adds &utm_nooverride for ALL PAYMENT methods that do a redirect. It's very important that the customer (if) returns withi this utm flag, otherwise the conversion may not be properly associated with the referral/campaign.
