Cart Update Buttons Don't Work

We installed on a new website and have tried a bunch of the pre-designed templates but no matter which we use we are encountering the following issues.

1. Qty update submits the form but the qty isn't updated.
2. Same with the delete item button.
3. Sometimes clicking show cart doesn't bring the user to the secure domain.
4. Coupon doesn't work (we are using AWO Coupon).
5. Confirming the order sends the user back to the home page.
