we released a plugin for benchmarking your joomla installation. Our plugin will measure speed of yours
- plugins
- modules
- components
The output will be displayed in Javascript console which can be found in Google Chrome by pressing F12 or in Firefox by installing Firebug and enabling the javascript console - also accessible with F12 key.
Installation guide
1. Install with Joomla installer. Currently compatible with Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 1.7
2. Proceed to Extensions -> Plugins
3. Search for System - Benchmark
4. Click "Patch Now" in the plugin's parameters
5. Enable the Plugin
6. Don't forget to unpatch before uninstall
General Info
This plugin will ovewrite (and create a backup) of these two Joomla core files:
/libraries/joomla/event/dispatcher.php
/libraries/joomla/application/component/helper.php
The original files are from Joomla 1.5.25 or Joomla 1.7.5, patched to get the benchmark variables. If they cause problems, please restore them from/libraries/joomla/event/dispatcher.bench_bck.php
/libraries/joomla/application/component/helper.bench_bck.php
They will be automatically restored on uninstall of this plugin.
